To register for classes, call 907-586-1750 or email your name, classes of interest and phone number to: info@canvasarts.org. Full payment must be made at the time of registration. Notice of withdrawal must be received no later than 7 days prior to the first day of class. No refunds will be given after that time. Credit will not be given for missed classes.
 
November & December 2008 Classes:

Jewelry Making

 

Jewelry Making **This class is FULL and waitlisted**

Tuesdays, Nov 4-25, 6:00-9:00pm (4 weeks)

Students will learn how to solder, saw, file, texture and rivet using silver and base metals.  Projects will include a silver ring, a pair of silver earrings and a simple pendant using the various techniques learned in the class.  $150 (includes supplies)

Four-week oil painting class for beginning and intermediate students.   A different project will be introduced every week, offering students an opportunity to learn and develop specific skills.  $125 (includes materials)

Still Life Drawing

Through graphite, conté crayon and charcoal, students will learn and develop drawing skills. Great for beginning students who wish to move to the next level of depth and shape .  $125 (includes materials)

Dust off your old block printing materials and drop in for an evening of printmaking. Bring your own paper and ink, and use our printing presses. $5 drop in fee.

Create a creature! Great for all ages. Kids bring a an adult to help you with sewing. We’ll have materials, but feel free to bring in any fanciful stocking, mittens or buttons you’d like to add to the collection! $20

Polaroid Transfer

Learn the process for Polaroid and emulsion transfer. In this class, artist Noelle Dersé will provide stone tiles and high quality paper to print your transfers on. Excellent gifts! While materials are provided, if you have old slides and a glass surface you would like to transform into an art piece, feel free to bring them along. (Slides won’t be harmed). $55 (includes materials)

 

Family Storytelling Workshop

 

Family Storytelling Workshop
with Brett Dillingham
Sunday, Dec. 21, 1:00pm-4:00pm

“Our Stories from the Wilderness.” Come join children’s book author, storyteller and educator Brett Dillingham for an afternoon of story creation. In this class, Brett will teach parents, children and anyone interested in storytelling how to write and perform their own story. Participants are invited to join a follow-up class that includes telling your story to a real audience, Sunday, Dec. 28th at 3pm. $Pay as you can.

Oil painting, drawing, and pottery. Instructors Karen Suderman, Hillary Buck and MK MacNaughton will offer 2 day sessions exploring all of these mediums. Kids will rotate in small groups to different stations during the 2 day session. This is an opportunity for kids who want a focused art studio experience. Suggested for kids 8 & up.
