Creative, personal expression takes many forms, in public and private domains. In September, the Canvas Gallery and the Juneau Alliance for Mental Health Inc. (JAMHI) are collaborating to honor individuals who use visual media to share meaningful aspects of their lives. This is a diverse group of artists, from the formally trained, to the self-taught, to playful experimenters of art materials. Each person demonstrates admirable resilience as life and social issues threaten to take a toll, mirroring the universal challenges we all face in this ever changing world.
