Plein Rein is a collection of kindred spirits who love making art and who meet Saturday mornings, rain, shine, snow or sleet and usually get out to paint en plein air.  The group has been meeting for nearly a decade. Friendships have been forged, while traveling to Italy, Turkey and Washington State, and during an annual weekend trek to live and breathe art at the Shrine of St Therese.  Contemporary artists Kes Woodward, Dave Mollett, Larry Seiler and Marsha O'Connell have come to Juneau to teach a workshop with Plein Rein artists.  Plein Rein enjoys sharing their recent landscapes done in water color, pastels, acrylics and oils. Our 2010 July show at the Canvas is an exhibit of recent work representing group outings in the past year.

Plein Rein also puts together a calendar featuring art by a different artist each month.  Plein Rein currently meets at the A&P (Foodland) solarium at 9 AM Saturday mornings and decides where to go from there.  Interested artists, budding or seasoned are always welcome to join the group for a Saturday morning outing.   A notice of where the group is painting is usually left on the phone booth if you happen to get there late.
